Of what i can say the HP EliteBook 840 g1 isn't so much different to the probooks, so i wondered how compatible that one is. The main Feature for this one: it comes without os.

Not sure, but it's very like Probook 4x0 G1, what about audio codec id?

Device manager, find device id and vendor id of audio. or you can dump audio codec from linux.
