Check IOreg as well to make sure you have it there.

ok so have just spent the last 30 mins trying figure out how to get this to see the external hard drive ( where the problem drive is) all it wants to do is give details of my MacBook.. i have goggles and can't find a simple answer

IOreg is separate app. Give it a search and once you've got it running Save and send. It's an excellent way to see what's going. Unless you're locked out already?

I can get this to see my external hard drive where the OSX is I have googled but can't find anywhere to change the "Root"
