Hi,

with a GA-Z77-DS3H, does the motherboard HDMI ports support video and audio output in Mac OS? or will I NEED a dedicated graphics card to output through HDMI?

It depends on the processor you buy, if it supports HD3000 or HD4000 graphics, then you can enable HDMI audio output using a custom DSDT. Look at the stickies at the top of this HDMI audio forum
