Hi,

My problem is HDMI digital audio keeps disconnecting, Yamaha RX-467V AV/R is showing intermittent HDMI audio signal.

I'm using DSDT for my Gigabyte H97M-DH3 motherboard, and HDMI connected to Gainward GTX 680 nvidia card. I have no special kext used for audio/video (nvida card worked OOB, sleep/wake is OK, etc.). I'm using Clover boot in EFI partition.

Once I reboot my rig HDMI audio works flawlessly, but after two or three sleep/wake cycles, HDMI audio starts disconnection pattern, specially if I'm using Chrome (¿?). I've read about Chrome and HiDPI issues, but I don't think that could break HDMI sound...

Everything else is working OK, as far I know. Nvidia card is powering 4k DP monitor through DP port, with HiDPI scheme (4k displays are stunning), iMessage is working fine too, and so on.

Which is my best strategy?

1. Trying another DSDT. I'm worried about this because I'm not very good with DSDT compilation...
2. Trying several AppleHDA patched kexts. I thought this approach is for people with no HDMI sound at all, and that's not my case, so I didn't take this way before. But know I'm considering it.
3. I have spare 7970 card, but ATI personalities, injection, etc seems a very hard way to do things..

Any thoughts?

Thank you very much.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm still testing with a totally different approach: I changed GTX 680 with 7970 GHz ed from my gaming rig.

System boots properly, with HDMI audio and 4k@60 Hz OOB, but after some use and sleep/wake cycle, I suffer same issue: HDMI sound is affected, now with cranking/robotic corruption, instead HDMI random disconnections...

I can feel this issues specially with rapid Expose usage, GPU fan goes full and sound start failing. I tested Luxmark with 7970 and gives 2283 (much better than 780 from GTX ¿?), so I assume QE/CE it's working, but this performance degradarion keeps me nuts...

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
