Motherboard
Z390 AORUS PRO
CPU
i7 8700k - 4.7Ghz
Graphics
RX580 4Gb
Mac
  1. iMac
Mobile Phone
  1. iOS
I have a HP 6300 low budget build (free so far) I’m working on:
16g RAM
i3 3220
160gb HDD
500gb HDD

I’m not sure which graphics card to buy...I’m considering the PNY GT 710 2gb (59$). But I’m wondering if I should go towards the newly supported AMD products like the RX 560/570/580 (140$). I’m not a gamer, I just use it for productivity and web browsing, some music, etc. any thoughts would be great.

Also, in this situation, would a i5 2400 be better for the CPU? Since I won’t be using onboard GPU. I have both CPUs in my possession already.

Also, I’m planning on using Mojave, but I would like to continue to update as new OS X is released.

An AMD graphics card is better going forward as that is what Apple is using in its real Macs. If you don't want to spend that much then go for a RX 560 (but avoid XFX).

The i5 2400 is a quad (4) core CPU while the i3 3220 is only a dual (2) core CPU. So I would say the i5 is better.
