Gigabyte X58A-UD3R and DSDT?

Ok to start off, I don't know what DSDT is. I've been reading around and I don't quite get it. I saw a thread on this forum about a DSDT database and specific mobo's.

My board is listed there. Does that mean I need to use this DSDT to get 10.6.4 up and running? How do I install it? And what exactly is DSDT?

In short, the DSDT file lets you install Snow Leopard with less additional kexts (drivers).
