Computer Build
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H55M-D2H (rev 1.4 Bios F3) [Socket 1156]
CPU: Intel i3 540
GPU: Gigabyte GT240 (1GB DDR3) ***Don't know how to add to compatible hardware***
RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3
[Sorry Tonymac, I am from greece, couldn't wait 2-3weeks to get the stuff from amazon]
What do we need ???
From Here
1)iBoot
2)Multibeast
3)KextBeast
Also, Snow Leopard 10.6.7 Combo Update
and ALC888b
and from DSDT database the DSDT file for the motherboard (888b file)
We can download them, or put them on a flash drive
For the most part I used Tonymac's guide
and I will add the parts where I diverge from that guide
Apart from the suggested Bios Changes I used just for the installation
1)Disable Azalia Codec (kernel panic because asks for mic)
2)Disable Lan (while installing with Lan enabled installation crashes somehow without any notice)
Once install the OS (between steps 15-16 tonymac's guide) and BEFORE booting on Snow Leopard enable both Azalia codec and H/W Lan
Install The combo update [DON'T REBOOT]
Run Multibeast and choose
1)UserDSDT
2)System Utilities
3)Audio>Realtek> ALC8xx.AppleHDA Rollback
4)Graphics>Enablers>NVEnabler
5)Miscellaneous>IOUSBFamily Rollback
6)Network>Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx Ethernet
7)Bootloaders>Chimera v1.1.0 r753
8)[Optional] Customization>Boot Options>64-bit Apple Boot Screen
9)OSx86 Software [Yes, all of them]
Let MultiBeast do the job, Install the new window Lnx2Mac Network Installer and Reboot without iBoot this time..
Once back in your OS
Go to the folder you downloaded [Gigabyte ALC888b] and copy GigabyteALC888b.kext
Go to /Extra, Remove Extensions.mkext
Go to /Extra/Extensions -- Right Click Paste
In [Gigabyte ALC888b] folder go to /HDAEnabler_12 and copy HDAEnabler.kext to the Desktop
Open Application Kext Utility and let it do the Job and then
Open Kext Beast and also let it Run
Reboot, Enjoy
Troubles:
In system Information my Graphics Card is said to be unknown but it's working perfectly in 1920x1080 mode, so I don't know if I should enlist it as compatible hardware.. I haven't tried yet graphics card demanding Soft but once I tried I will submit my scores
Special Thanks to:
