i had the same issue with OSX locking up using the onboard Atheroes Ethernet it only does it when your copying high amounts over network the only way i got around this was using WIFI!

Same problem - locks up on heavy network use (always sending, AFAICT).

No luck. The project needed to be built from source. I did that, booted with it, same exact behavior as with 1.0.2 - casual light use is fine, but the second I drag a file to my NFS server, the machine reboots. This is especially sucky because you need to use this ethernet when getting imessage to work, though once it's set up you can switch to USB Ethernet. Or, I suppose, you can spend $20 and get a PCIe card, but I happened to have a USB lying around...

Tada. Fixes everything, so far. Large file copies work flawlessly, whereas before they froze and rebooted instantly.

I have even tried AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext
none work
