Getting ++++ symbols when I choose MacOS installer from Clover

For the row of plus signs you could try replacing VBoxHfs-64.efi with HFSPlus.efi in EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/

When I do that Clover just completely fails to boot and sits on a black screen with a single _

Try using OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi instead of OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi.
Or even try the new AptioMemoryFix.kext instead of any OsxAptioFix*.efi.

I tried em all, they all give me a kernel cache error with the exception of OsxAptioFixDrv-64.

Did you try booting with -f UseKernelCache=No

Just did, it had no effect and still showed the kernel cache error

I am also getting the row of +++++++++ when I try installing Sierra (10.12.6 downloaded from App store today), when trying to start a USB made by Unibeast 7.1.1.

I also tried running the installer for High Sierra (10.13.6 downloaded from App store about a week ago), using Unibeast 8.3.2 and also fails with a row of ++++++++++++ (but it also says End RandomSeed).

Similar error if I try to install Mojave also.

Use one of these files
Aptiomemmoryfix-64.efi
Or osxaptiofixdrv.efi
Or osxaptiofixdrv2.efi
Or osxaptiofixdrv3.efi
Don't use all of these together try one by one in the EFI folder..
I had the same issue but aptiomemmoryfix-64.efi did it for me.. and make sure you have all the kext files required
