So here's what I am looking at purchasing hardware wise...
Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I72600K
Graphics Card - GIGABYTE Ultra Durable VGA Series GV-R685OC-1GD Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9B
(12gb or 16gb)
Power Supply - CORSAIR Professional Series HX650 (CMPSU-650HX) 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Case - Corsair Carbide Series 400R Graphite grey and black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case
Hard Drives - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
...I am new to this whole process and want to make sure all this hardware is compatible with each other before I fork out the dough to buy it.
Also, I have some other questions:
1.) What disk drive should I get? I just want one to play/burn dvd's and cd's. I think I read that Blu-ray's are not supported, so what is the next best thing?
2.) What wifi card and bluetooth card should I get? Don't have access to an ethernet connection so I will need to use wifi. And I also want to link my magic mouse and apple keyboard up via bluetooth.
3.) What is the difference between tri-channel RAM and dual-channel? I heard you can only set up tri-channel in increments of 3 (3, 6, 12, etc). Is this true? Is there a benefit to either one?
4.) A 650 Watt power supply will be plenty right?
Thanks for the help! You're saving me ze moneys!
