This will be my first hackintosh build. I think I can build this thing for around $425. Would you guys mind looking at this hardware list and giving it a thumbs up or a thumbs down? Should I consider a fanless graphics card or an upgraded CPU cooler?

Thanks a ton...great site

I dont know much about compatibility with osx but i know that your definitely going to need a different psu the video card you choose needs a minimum of 300w.

replace your psu... you should not have any problems running vanilla snow leopard...
follow iboot + multibeast method!!!

Reason for new PSU?

Thanks for pointing out the video card / PSU issue. I was just curious why you recommended a new PSU rather than a different video card? I would be open to using any video card that is easily integrated using MultiBeast that is at least as good as the 256mb graphics in the Mac Mini. Seems like I could try that PSU until if or when it dies?

In other words, should I just get a different video card? If so, any suggestions for a low power card? Thanks!

Re: Reason for new PSU?

My best recommendatinos are here for vid cards.

Maybe the silent 8400 or 9400 would suit your needs. But the 240 is great for HDMI Audio/Video if that's what you're using it for. I'd go for at LEAST a 300watt psu if using the 240. I've had no issues with my SilverStone mini case with 300watt psu. Good luck!
