ethernet not working

When I booted through iboot during the installation process my ethernet port worked so I know it is a functioning port. After running multibeast however to configure everything RealtekR1000SL Kext did not activate my ethernet port. I am using a GA-P55A-UD4P and it is a 64bit set up.

The port is now up and running but I have a self-assigned IP address and I don't know why. Like I said it connected fine during the install process to download the update and multiebeast while using iboot.

I am having a self assigned IP adress problem as well but I know this cable works beacuse I used it to download multibeast right after the DVD install. I have the Realtek RTL8169 Kext and RealtekR1000SL Kext installed. I originally had the R1000SL Kext installed only b/c it said 32/64 bit and the other was 32 bit only. After I installed the two the port lit up but I can't connect for some reason. I is confused. I also hate networking on macs >.<

No double posting please (moved your extra posts here).

Try booting with iBoot... Do you have Ethernet ?
If not, try this: viewtopic.php?p=66958#p66958

If it works, just install my kext from http://bit.ly/RTL81xx-kext

sorry for the double post I was looking for more info on the subject and found that thread and thought I should see if those in that thread knew anything about the problem i was having.
