Hey all

I have a 120GB SSD that I want to use only for OSX, and then I have a 2TB HDD that I'd like to use for Windows 7, backup, and general storage. After much troubleshooting, I was only able to get Windows 7 to install to my partition on the HDD after setting the HDD as the 1st boot priority manually. It is, by default, 2nd, I'm assuming because it's plugged in the 2nd SATA port. So it reads as "Disk 1 Partition 1, 2, 3, etc".

Is there a way to have OSX installed on the SSD, use that as the primary OS, but use Chimaera to occaisionally boot to my Win partition (on the separate HDD) as needed?

Mobo specs:

Thanks!

yes. see http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/96000-guide-dual-booting-mountain-lion-windows-8-a.html
Win7 and Win8 work same.
note that the Windows partition must be one of the first 4 partitions on the HDD. It prefers the first. If you only use Windows occasionally, format the drive GUID and create a 100Gb partition (that is probably all you will need) for Windows and format it MSDOS FAT, size and format the rest of the 2Tb HDD as you wish. Disconnect all other drives and install Windows, using Windows installer to format the partition NTFS.
