Hi, I have Ventura running on a GA Z170Z UD5 board. The board has support for a Gigabyte Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 add on card. The motherboard manual says

"THB_C (Thunderbolt™ Add-in Card Connector)This connector is for a GIGABYTE Thunderbolt™ add-in card"

And on Gigabyte site regarding the card I see my motherboard listed as supported.

But on the driver page https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GC-ALPINE-RIDGE-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver it only shows Windows support.

Under system properties I see this entry for USB 3.1 controller: AppleUSBXHCIAR. I understand that is an Alpine Ridge Controller. Maybe that controller is both for USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 and the Gigabyte add on card could work on Mac out of the box?

Also, I use 18.3 symbios as I have headless iGPU and dGPU RX 480, for what it is worth.

thanks

Read this thread, see if the answer you need is present.

Once you get your TB card working it should work in any version of macOS, including Ventura.

Ok, thanks will check that out
