This is my 6th build over the years and these are the specs:

Asus Z790 ROG Maximus Hero
Intel i9-14900k
64GB DDR5
2TB WD Black SN850X NVMe
XFX AMD Radeon RX6800
Open Core is 0.9.8
All Kext and SSTD’s are the most recent.

I have three monitors attached all using the DisplayPorts. The Center display is the “Main Display” with the other two as extended. This is the same configuration I have used with the previous builds (they were all Gigabyte boards).

I have sleep turned off, however after 5 minutes, the displays turn off (how it is configured in Lock Screen settings). Screensaver is also turned off.

What I am encountering is when it turns off the displays, it sometimes (almost once a day) will move the displays. The center one is always the same, but the two side (right and left) will switch. Occasionally when it comes back one of the screens could also loose the wallpaper and just be a black screen (still usable).

I have tried trashing the Caches in Library, and what I find works best is to restart and clearing the NVram twice. However sometimes it takes a few tries. Then the monitors are correct.

They are plugged into the graphics card in order of how they are set up (as 1,2,3).

I have googled numerous times to find nothing helps.

Anyone have any idea where I should look to keep this from happening?
