Hi,

I am quite new to Hackintoshing and recently while trying to install some extensions I got kernel panics at bootup (and I also panicked). So I tried googling for help and I saw this article which advised me to boot to my unibeast USB and overwrite the existing chameleon.plist and smbios file and repairing permissions.

I did it and I was able to get my system up and running again (and me happy of course!)

However, now I realised on bootup that chimera will wait for me at boot up to choose the drive to boot from. There is no longer the timer or anything like that.

I have tried reinstalling Chimera but I don't see any change. I tried adding the Timeout key to the chameleon plist and there is no difference.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!:beachball:

When editing org.chameleon.Boot.plist in /Extra/, you must replace
<key>Instant Menu</key>
<string>Yes</string>

with

<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>

(just in case you just added the latter ;))

I can't see another possibility. (or did you forget to remove your USB key? — Note: remove it only when the pc is off, not when you've started from it )
