Cheap Graphics card?

So one of the labs at my school are looking to get some new computers and I was thinking i could convince them into building a few hackintosh's as a "science project".

These computers wont be doing any hard computing so to get as many as possible I'm thinking of getting this setup:
core i3 550
gigabyte h55m s2v
4gb ram
whatever hdd.
and a nice case and psu.

From what i remember intel graphics are a nogo so
What is a Cheap Graphics card that will just work?
only real requirements are that it works easily. and i would prefer dvi or hdmi video.

will something like a 8400gs work?

I would recommend a motherboard with four memory slots, like GA-H55M-USB3 or GA-H57M-USB3. They also have integrated USB3.

It seems like every 8400 card works fine but I'm not 100%. Get a passive cooled card.

thanks. forgot about the wiki page.

I would normally get a new board with usb and 4 slots but this build will probably not get any added memory sticks so 2 is enough.
and usb3 is nice for other builds but not necessary here.
