Can this scratch be repaired?

Hey all,

What is possible on scratch removal on the iMac G4 screens? Has anyone attempted to repair or minimize a defect like the one shown?

This is a 17" iMac G4 that I have thought about purchasing for a hack.

I used a little Vaseline on one of my 17's Neil. However, the scratch wasn't as bad as that. There's instructions available for the trick that sometimes works and sometimes not.
