Is it possible to create a bootable CDROM instead of USB stick?

Don't think so, an image is around 8 GB and a CDROM is, at most 800 MB. Besides, I'm not sure if a UEFI partition could be mounted from an optic drive.

I would suggest you to stay with the USB stick.

Cheers.

I apologize for a confusion, I mean to say a bootable dual layer DVD-ROM. Get Info on the USB says Used: 6.14 GB which is less then dual layer DVD-ROM.

One of my tests systems has SATA ATA mode only, no AHCI offered.
Does it mean that it completely unsuitable for this purpose?

What system do you have? why don't you check the buyers guide and see first if your hardware is in those lists.

Cheers!
