Hey everyone,

so I built my first Hackintosh over the last days (unfortunately more than I planned ;-) ) thanks to the incredibly detailed Dortania guide. So far everything works fine, except there’s one issue with graphics: My screen is a little blurred when running in 1920x1080 and in QHD (2560x1440) texts are almost unreadable.
Since parallel windows is fine, BIOS or iGPU don’t seem to be the problem.

I don’t know if it matters, but I fixed what seems to be a motherboard-specific problem with a violet/magenta hue on the screen forcing RGB mode with this tool: https://gist.github.com/adaugherity/7435890
After that, I installed DisableMonitor, because macOS didn’t show me higher resolution than 1920x1080 for the generated profile: https://github.com/Eun/DisableMonitor

Things I tried:
  • disconnecting and reconnecting HDMI cable (seems to have worked with some builds)
  • Config: AAPL,ig-platform-id: both 07009B3E and 00009B3E
  • Config: NVRAM - Add - 4D1ED… - UIScale: both 01 and 02 according to https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/cosmetic/verbose.html#macos-decluttering
  • Config: UEFI - Output - Resolution: both max and 2560x1440. Interestingly, after setting it to 2560x1440, macOS bootet in 1920x1080
  • A lot of googling

Hardware:
  • Asus Prime z370-P
  • Intel i5 8600k
  • Intel UHD630 integrated Graphics (shows 1536 MB in About this Mac)
Software:
  • OpenCore 0.64
  • macOS Mojave 10.14.6
  • EFI/config attached (deleted UUID and serial number)

I’m not a native speaker, so please forgive :)
I’d appreciate any suggestions or help of any kind.

Cheers

Found the solution: added boot-arg -cdfon
it seems to be for 4K laptop screens, but worked for me and QHD resolution. I see crystal clear now :)

Hello, would you like to ask what model your monitor is, HDMI or DP or type-C interface.
And can you share the screenshot of your resolution settings in MacOS.
I want to buy a 27 inch 4K monitor. I don't know if it supports it?
