ATI Radeon HD5770 HDMI with audio

I know many folks use realtek audio as their default but the ATI hd5770 comes with audio support if you plug with HDMI.
Here is my question that bothers me since I built my custommac.
How can I make my video card not only shows video but also audio?
on win 7, one hdmi from my custommac, I can see and hear the sound but not under osX.
Anyone help me on this?
