as far as i can see the kext(from mieze, v2.2.2) loads, ethernet shows up in system profiler, detects the cable being plugged in and unplugged, won't get an ip via dhcp, doesn't appear to pickup the mac address either

lspci -nnn:

not sure what i'm doing wrong here :( anyone have any insights on what might be going on? did i miss something obvious?
running high sierra 10.13.6, had 10.14 installed initially with the same troubles

answering my own question here after revisiting it over a year later
updating to a newer version of the realtek8111 v2.3.0d7 allowing you to set a fallback mac address solved the problem
 
were you able to get everything working on the cn60? was thinking of hackintoshing it...
