Asus 8400gs 512mb.. PLEASE ADVICE! and need help

i need help

im going to buy the following card : ASUS 8400GS 512mb silent.

now i need to know will this card work in Snow Leopard 10.6.6 .. im currently working on 10.6.6 with hd 5450 but this card doesn't support osx yet i only get native resolution of 1024x768

i need to know that this card can get all the resolution out of the box or at least theres a kext for the 8400gs im going to buy

any help is appreciated

It will work for 99% or more. That specific card is recommended by tony and/or MacMan.

Hey,

I've got almost the same card - and had almost the same trouble.

At the root of the problem is that there are many versions of the 8400 GS video card.

The fix for me was to identify the the cards device ID in S/L/E NVDANV50Hal.kext, and add PCIRootUID=1 in the kernel flag section of /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist.
