I have gotten my 3 from eBay. You have to really hunt around and be patient for the good deals and nice looking machines. Some are really bad and some that are really nice still go for top dollar.
I see you are in the UK. Just keep an eye on eBay. Lots of ways of doing on the cheap - often you can buy one, part it out and end up making a profit.
For instance, last month I just missed out on four being sold in Leeds for spares/repairs that went for £155. They would have been a fantastic buy.
