Hello!

I've finally decided to build my first CustoMac from scratch. Previously I have only had OSX on a couple pre-assembled computers, so I though it's time to do it properly. :p

So this is what I thought it'd be like:

Intel Core i5-2500K

Gigabyte GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00548 ... cx86com-20

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD6850

Corsair Vengeance Blu 8 GB (2X4 GB)

Antec Mini p180 case

Antec EA500 ATX 12V 500W Power Supply

Samsung F3 1TB HDD

That's almost the same as tonymac's customac build #3, but if anyone has any piece of advice about the components please tell.

I was thinking about running CustomBeast with my new CustoMac, but I have a few questions about it.
Overall, is it a "better" solution than using for example iBoot+MultiBeast?

Also what I've been trying to figure out is what does gsata mean and does my motherboard have it - and what option (Internal, external or disabled) should I select if I end up with CustomBeast..?

And the same question about ATA drivers (JMicron), should I select Yes or No? : :?

Thanks in advance! :)

Looks all good. I'd still, however, go with a board that has more/better heat-sinks on the chips around the CPU – especially since you obviously want to overclock (K-series CPU).

The JMicron ATA drivers make no sense since your board doesn't have an ATA socket. ;)

For additional SATA-ports, your board uses a Marvell chipset. Not sure whether there's a driver for that in MultiBeast or CustomBeast... or whether it's supported OOB...

About CustomBeast: This means that Tony & Co. provide you with an installation package specifically designed for your setup.
In my opinion it's not necessary, but it depends on how much research you want to do before you install.
