    I double checked and it was not. I solved it nonetheless, and I think it's a bug I've never seen before, but I ask the status of pmset in terminal, and it returned 2 for sleepdisplay. I set it to 0, the panel in System Preferences did not move, and now the screen behaves normally. o_O

    Thanks, I considered this solution for a time, but I tried to connect the LED+ pin on the HDD activity + pin on the mobo. Turns out the LED stays on without flickering, and is logically off when the system is shutdown or asleep. Yeah !
