Yeah, I don't know how that would work on macos because AppleHDA cannot control I2S devices... What is needed is some kind of port of the linux module to macos...

Hi, ESSX8336 is not HDA device, which is why codec dump reports 0 HDA devices found... The ESSX uses the I2S pulse audio protocol, so technically AppleHDA cannot control it. But people have gotten the card working in Linux... Do you think there is a possibility to use I2S audio in macos?

Hi guys! I've just installed High Sierra, bug I cannot get my ALC883 to work properly. Best I can do is VoodooHDA, but the sound is choppy with the headphone port, and my old kexts work, but the sound is choppy as well. I also tried hdapatcher but i just get buzz. I ve been trying all week...
