I just split my partition into two and did a clean install with Yosemite 10.10, still getting freezes. I think I'm going to install either Ubuntu or Mountain Lion to troubleshoot the issue to either the OS or the hardware.

Is there any way to save a log of the boot up process? Everything goes really quickly here.
