I got to the bootloader! But, unfortunately it hung on a grey apple screen. I ran it in verbose mode and have a video of it on my phone, but I'm not sure what info might be important?
I tried that and it still won't get past the black screen with flashing cursor. which it still does for about 5 seconds before booting into my windows hdd.
I don't see an option in my BIOS to actually turn secure boot off. I think that selecting the "other os" option is as close to off as it's going to be.
I will try what you said for creating the installer again.
Sorry, I didn't think the system info was particularly relevant. I just changed it so that secure boot to "other OS" from "windows uefi" to no avail. Here is my sys info:
cpu: i7 4770k
mobo: asus z87-deluxe
gpu: asus gtx660 ti
ram: 2x4gb corsair vengeance
I don't think anything else is...
I patched my BIOS and created a USB following the guide, but now when I select the USB as the bootdevice on my PC it goes to a black screen with a flashing curser for about 5 seconds before deciding to just boot into Windows. Why would this happen?

So if I have access to a new MacBook Air and get my ML installer from there, it would likely function? *crosses fingers* *hopes to not sound like a complete idiot*
