vga is a no-no. you need to use dvi or hdmi ports. dvi to vga converter wont work either.
Ive got a zotac gtx 650 with 2 dvi and 2 hdmi running 4 monitors perfectly.
I've got a whole heap of experience with the Aurora and firewire... Would put money on the fact that its not your computer, its the Lynx FW-LT card.
The USB card for the Aurora actually performs better, but the very best can be got out of them by using it via AES, with an RME AES-32 card...
