<< Solved >> After upgrading to Catalina and adding RX 7700 XT, I need to change my SMBIOS every boot

Well, I still can't explain what happened, but I have found a solution. I let Clover Configurator generate an entirely new SMBIOS instead of just changing the 2 to a 3. Now it seems to boot successfully on its own without any intervention. Hooray. Marking this issue as SOLVED.

<< Solved >> After upgrading to Catalina and adding RX 7700 XT, I need to change my SMBIOS every boot

I know this is going to sound ridiculous but bear with me, please. I upgraded from Mojave to Catalina today. See my profile for build details. Upgrade seemed to go OK until final boot into OS. Had trouble booting with the RX580 but I figured - no big deal - I was planning on installing a...

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

Yes, I bought the nvidia card after the initial setup. I guess I will now remove this kext. Thanks. Any idea about the WiFi? I have a Broadcom BCM94352 (which is now in my profile). If preferable I will do a little hunting on my own or start a separate thread.

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

@P1LGRIM - I guess you have a point. Unless this is why my WiFi is no longer working. Although I think originally I installed Lilu because of graphics support. And now I am using the nvidia Web driver. @feartech: kext-dev-mode allowing invalid signature -67062 0xFFFFFFFFFFFEFA0A for kext...

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

Actually, there's still no Lilu Kext in /Library/Extensions. I guess it booted because the kext just isn't there. Does it need to be in /Library/Extensions or will /System/Library/Extensions also work? That is the only option I have in KextWizard

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

As feartech suggested, I deleted the old one first and now it seems to be fine. Wifi is broken for some reason and I don't know why. But other than that every this is functional. Thanks again.

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

First of all - thank you both so much. It was right in front of my face and I had no idea what I was looking for. And also thanks for not letting me try to fix via windows. So it boots with -liluoff but after downloading the 1.2.2 binary to desktop and installing with KextBeast, I'm still...

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

Sorry about that, I will update my profile now. Can I do this by booting into Windows and dropping in the kext folder? I have MacDrive installed so I should be able to access the contents. Or is there another recommended way?

    [Solved] Kernel panic after update

macOS was bugging me to update Sierra for a while (to High Sierra?) so I finally went and did it. And now I'm stuck at a kernel panic. Any ideas? I have a Gigabyte Z270N-WIFI motherboard and a GTX 1060. I swapped out the WIFI chip inside but that was never a problem before. I have always had...

    [SOLVED] Gigabyte X58-UD3R Audio Pops

Re: Gigabyte X58-UD3R Audio Pops SOLVED! Yes, the above thread was the solution. It's all about fixing the plist to read MacPro3,1 and Mac Pro. I did it manually, but I think there's a plist fixer included in MultiBeast for anyone who's experiencing this problem.

    [SOLVED] Gigabyte X58-UD3R Audio Pops

Re: Gigabyte X58-UD3R Audio Pops bump? EDIT: Also, I have done some more research and think the high pitched whine is related to interference in my power line. Not a Hackintosh problem. EDIT: Just happened across viewtopic.php?f=16&t=108 and will try what's discussed in the post.
