Exactly the same thing happened to me! I fixed it by not booting is safemode (-x) It disables all unnecessary features. So thats your problem mate. However im guessing you cant boot without -x?

Go into BIOS and check your settings. Do to peripherals tab, and look for the integrated graphics bit, and max everything out. (memory size) and (DVMT Memory size) Any better?

ahh that should be the solution, i am using the Clover bootloader, (Yes the problem still persists with other bootloaders) so if anyone knows how to disable the pci slot.. Please please help :) Thanks ZZRider

HD4000 No VRAM (solved) reason must be that im booting in safe mode.. But that brings up more problems ahah

so it hangs on Boot hangs on "NTFS Volume Name wills pipeline , Version 3.1." (wills pipeline being my windows HDD) But when i remove the HDD i get "sound Assertion in Apple HDACCodecGeneric at line 360" Can boot with -x. Would appreciate some help asap, thanks!

Scrap Chimera for now. Boot into the usb and load back into OS X Download the latest Multi beast. And follow this. Look for the bit where it says "UserDSDT Installation for Sandy Bridge CustoMac build using Realtek ALC 889 and Realtek Ethernet"...
