hi,beginner92. I have same problem about Optical drive. My fix is switch connection of optical drive from SATA3 to SATA2.

hi I'm same problem. I tried to using backup 10.8.4 from TimeMachine. and update again by Stork's way, but result is same. There is no problem for safe mode. so I will try remove kext file one by one.
