Twitter’s new X logo almost identical to Mac X11 logo

I love it. Buy the company, get rid of 80% of the workers, claim "software could need complete rewrite" aka, get rid of the software, don't pay rent on the offices while not allowing remote work, which will eventually get rid of the offices, get rid of a large portion of the advertisers, and...

macOS 14 Sonoma Public Beta is Now Available

Has anyone had any trouble getting their USB audio devices, which are detected and accessible with their configuration applications, to show up in the audio output options?

Converting to OpenCore and now have Two iMacs with same Serial number showing?

Any time i've experimented with changing SMBIOS i've been presented with iCloud errors and had to re-log back in. It's really no big deal. If you decide you need to go back to Clover for some reason, you just have to go through the same thing again. Your iMessages are still in the cloud.

What would cause a wake failure ONLY for overnight sleep?

Heyo. My system has developed a weird problem where sleep mostly works fine except for 2 problems that happen occasionally when waking. First issue is that occasionally i'll wake the system, and bluetooth hangs until I reset it. When this happens, the system wakes to desktop, and not to the...

Goldeneye game returns in 4K on Xbox Game Pass

There's a lot that didn't age well with this game. Sound design and Music were so iconic and amazing. I hope they didn't change any of that.

    Network Sharing with no Web

a few ideas that come to mind: check to see if you can block specific IPs or MAC addresses in your router, change the DNS server to an invalid address, possibly there is an entry you can put in your /etc/hosts file that will block everything.

Is this really a "New" Gaming PC ?

Sounds like windows 8 all over again. I would argue that Windows in general isn't a finished product. It's a terrible user experience and thankfully Valve is destroying their dominance in gaming.

    Speed optimization

Everything is probably working as intended. If you want to squeak out some more performance from the CPU, try your hand at undervolting. These chips run extremely hot and throttle. If you can get the voltage down slightly it can make a big difference. You didn't say what cooler you are using...

Is this really a "New" Gaming PC ?

I always like to poke fun at Windows people for never wanting to use the latest version of Windows until they absolutely have to, (Windows 11 has about 20% adoption rate right now, and its a free upgrade from 10) but in this case, I don't think Windows 11 will run this "new" hardware.

    Big Sur random crashes daily

does this line appear every time you have a panic? : Process name corresponding to current thread: ManagedClient ...or is it a different process other than ManagedClient sometimes? This could indicate whether a specific process is crashing your system, or a hardware issue. Are you...

<< Solved >> UAD apollo twin | x Fax-modem-like noise from CPU activity leaking to speakers

You're probably experiencing a ground loop. Try defeating the ground prong on the power cord of your monitors. You're not experiencing this with the MacBook because it uses a 2 prong plug where your desktop has 3 prongs.

    Wi-Fi Issues

Fenvi cards come with tremendously awful antennas. Try replacing them with some different ones. I used to have the infamous t919 card, and it was barely usable unless you were right on top of the bluetooth device or wifi AP. New antennas helped a great deal.

Best AMD gpu for High Sierra 10.13.1 for video/animation

The Vega 56 is pretty easily flashable with a Vega 64 vbios. The performance boost is almost that of a 64 minus a few compute cores.

Keep coming back to beachballs after long period no activity

If everything is frozen except for the mouse and it beachballs, you might have a GPU crash. Check the logs for errors for things that say GPU restart, or GPU dump. I forget what the exact message is since its been so long since I dealt with this, but look around in the logs for anything GPU...
