I have used AnyCardReader.kext and VoodooSDHC.kext (dma and non-dma version). Neither of these do not work in their current state.
FYI, I just tried this on a hackintosh after the El Capitan upgrade and it would not work.
I did "hide" the update with a right click, then went back to the CLI and perform the cmd once more for sanity.... this is the output:

having this same issue... used both methods for UEFI and Legacy Clover bootloaders.
Have yet to try with -v, will be doing that next to see what it is hanging on.
