When installing VoodooHDAv.2.8.4, files inside /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext/ have owner and group set to the user and group that started the installer, not the root:wheel as all the other extensions. This permission prevents the kext to be loaded with this message: $ sudo kextload...
