Before I tried the 10.8.5 installer, I noticed a new version of multibeast (5.5.0).
Ran that, with the ALC892 Codec.
Can confirm on a GA-Z87X-D3H motherboard audio works, outputs to the correct devices (ie, sound is going to the mids/highs and bass bins appropriately) - if you plug...
I installed 10.8.4 on my previous motherboard, using Multibeast, followed the guide and it worked perfectly (Apart from sleep and CPU power management).
Upgrade to 10.8.5, ticked the same boxes in Multibeast and it worked.
Old board used ALC887, and used the Lnx2Mac ethernet driver.

Also, if it's worth anything - I went through /S/L/E and deleted Voodoo kexts, HDAEnabler1/2 kexts, and AppleHDA kext. After doing MultiBeast, the audio outputs show up this time, I have:
Internal Speakers
Line Out
Line Out
Digital Out
