Deleting the IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext in System/Library/Extensions BEFORE updating solved this problem for me. BTW the update installs this kext again. Hope this helps! :thumbup:

Hmm I'm having similiar problem with Asus K52Jr with no Intel graphics. Instead it has ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 but the update fails excactly the same way. I consider this being related to something other than graphics (only)... Any help appreciated! =)
