    High Sierra Random Freezing

Thanks, I have done that, and it matches a MacBook Pro 8,1. Are anyone else experiencing the strange effect that everything works fine when logged in as Guest (runs for days on end, vs. just a few hours when logged in to my proper account)? What could be the reason for that?

    High Sierra Random Freezing

I am experiencing similar problems - freezing up after some time with no activity. My random freezes seem to be connected to some iCloud services - I suspect Photos. If I log on as Guest, everything works stable. If I create a new user on my machine, but do NOT specify an AppleID, my machine is...

Re: Guide for Installing Lion on the HP Probook 4530s Version 3 Update: I installed lnx2mac driver again, this time downloaded directly from the website. Works nice with t*****t now :headbang: VERY good work, kudos @blueking for working so hard on this project, and big thanks to...

Guide for Installing Lion on the 4530s Version 3

Re: Guide for Installing Lion on the HP Probook 4530s Version 3 I used MultiBeast to install lnx2mac, and the installer said that it would remove all conflicting kexts. In addition, I manually removed the...

Guide for Installing Lion on the 4530s Version 3

Re: Guide for Installing Lion on the HP Probook 4530s Version 3 Nope. I tried the default one, and lnx2mac. Should I try "hnak´s AppleIntelE1000e Ethernet" as well?

Guide for Installing Lion on the 4530s Version 3

Re: Guide for Installing Lion on the HP Probook 4530s Version 3 OK, now it´s been stable for a long time, running on WiFi without any Ethernet Cable connected. So, my conclusion is that there´s something fishy with Ethernet, regardless of kexts in use. The one I removed manually was here...

Guide for Installing Lion on the 4530s Version 3

Re: Guide for Installing Lion on the HP Probook 4530s Version 3 I got this problem when using Ethernet. Then tried to install the lnx2mac kext from MultiBeast, then removed the old kext manually (see page 15 of this thread for location of the kext). Improvement, but I still get crashes...

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

This sounds similar too a problem I ran into when trying InsomniaT. I got out of it by plugging in a monitor in Hdmi AND one in VGA, then pressing fn f4 after it was done booting. Disabled the InsomniaT and then it worked Ok.

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

No Windows, fn-f4 works during startup, but after boot, OSX takes over and responds with brightness change.

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

Hi, has anybody had success with VGA or HDMI external monitor on a hd3000-only system? I tried to press alt-f4 right after boot, got output to VGA, and closed the laptop. If I do not close it, the ouput gets switched to the LCD when the desktop is displayed. With the lid down, it got as far as...

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

My bad. Deleted the network and added again, within Network Preferences, and this time with the name AirPort in stead of Ethernet...now it works as it should.

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

Yes, it seems to have solved the problem with intermittent connections  But, how do I get my machine to auto-connect next time I power up or wake from sleep, like a proper Mac? Now, I have to get into network preferences, select the ethernet interface and then choose my router in the...

I have followed inmike´s recipe, and have a working SL install, sort of. I am not happy with the lnx2.. WiFi, though. It is not recognized as an Airport, and I lose connection frequently. Any recommendations?

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

Well, thanks for the help! I went back to square one, and created the USB stick again, and followed BigDonkey's recipe to the letter. And Eureka, after install number ca. 17, I have a working system at 10.6.8. Used Chameleon 2.1 for boot. Working WiFi after BigDonkey's "2b" patch. Not working...

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

Thank you for answering, I really appreciate your help! The drive is named "Mac OS X Install DVD". Difficult to see what crashes / stops the booting, since it scrolls so fast, but I think it says something about ACPI and kext... I did a test, and when I boot from iBoot Legacy DVD, and then...

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

Yep, It is the one (20.8MB). Copied again to make sure. Still black screen hang. A hint: I can\t use iBoot either, I have to use iBoot Legacy. Maybe I need a completely different kernel?

    Snow Leopard on 4530s

I tried this method, but after step 5, when I boot from USB drive it hangs on black screen with mouse cursor in upper left corner, after all the text output (using -v) is blanked. I have waited for 20 minutes, but no response. What's wrong?
