Same here. Is the Iris Pro 6200 even supported under OS X?

Thunderbolt PCIe Upgrade - Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H

Asrock just announced two Skylake mainboards. As can be seen on this picture, the Asrock Z170 Gaming 6 also has a Thunderbolt header: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/9299/Z170%20Gaming%20K6_k.jpg

Thunderbolt PCIe Upgrade - Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H

Personally I'm not intending to use Thunderbolt for peripherals but for something else: LG now has two displays (both 34") with two Thunderbolt 2 ports. I have the LG 34UM95 here. What's not really advertised as such is that you can use the USB ports on the display over Thunderbolt, i.e. you...

Thunderbolt PCIe Upgrade - Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H

In this review someone claims that the Gigabyte Thunderbolt card works on his Asrock board: http://www.amazon.com/review/rxiqgtcn8t36l/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=utf8&asin=b00s9sgnlu&channel=detail-glance&nodeid=541966&store=pc And, in fact, the info page for the ASRock Fatal1ty Z97...

    BIOS settings for ASUS H97I-PLUS?

I've found the solution, and I'm keeping this thread in case others run into the same problem: Apparently, the stock BIOS of the ASUS H97I-PLUS at the time of purchase is 0505. This BIOS does NOT have an unlocked MSR, i.e. an HDD/SSD with 10.9.5 will NOT boot with this BIOS version. I upgraded...

    BIOS settings for ASUS H97I-PLUS?

After my Asrock Z87E-ITX mainboard had a defect, I bought an ASUS H97I-PLUS as a replacement while keeping the rest of the hardware: 4570S CPU, Samsung 830 SSD, 16 GB Corsair RAM. OS: Mavericks 10.9.5 However, the mainboard won't boot from the SSD. After the initial boot screen from ASUS, the...

    ASUS H97I-PLUS or GA-H97N-WIFI ?

Yes, there appears to be at least one user who says it works fine, but many more who say the H97I-PLUS gave them trouble, and I saw no mention of successful power management at all.

    ASUS H97I-PLUS or GA-H97N-WIFI ?

I need to decide soon whether to buy the H97I-PLUS or GA-H97N-WIFI. I'm favoring the H97I-PLUS because (1) it has an M.2 slot, and (2) I don't actually need the Gigabyte's wifi. However, I recall that Gigabyte's UEFI implementation supports OS X power management natively. Is this also true for...

Yes, but I think I'll wait until the 9 platform is officially supported.

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

FWIW, I recently bought the Asrock Z97E over the ASUS Z97I (that's why my Z87E-ITX is now my Mac) as a Windows machine, and I don't regret it. Yes, the smallish M2 *might* prove a dead end in the future, but the board also supports SATA Express and plain old SATA, and by the time M2 becomes...

Fantastic work, I'm happy to report that sleep is working as expected! Thank you very much, WonkeyDonkey, I appreciate your patience a lot! So everything is working now, all devices (and RAM), excluding onboard LAN which I don't need anyway, show up correctly, Wi-fi is fully...

Nope. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue how that DSDT stuff works. From my naive understanding, it's sort of a map which describes the device tree of your specific setup, isn't it? But I wouldn't know where to start building my own custom DSDT.

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

Thanks. I have used slightly newer versions, but also on 10.9.3. In any case, I tried to make the onboard Wi-fi working, and succeeded. All I needed was the bcm4352.kext from toleda's GitHub repository, and an additional wireless_half-mini-brcm4360-90_patch.command to enable 5 GHz, which now...

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

There's nothing to configure there manually, the Ethernet connection shows up there, and also in System Profiler. It even displays that the kext is correctly loaded. However, in the Network dialog it claims that no cable is connected, which, of course, is incorrect. Again, I double-verified...

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

Normal boot works, too. Onboard ethernet is not working. Cable is ok, BIOS shows, too, that connection is fine, verified with another machine and the same cable that the cable/router is not the problem, but in 10.9.3 it's telling me that the network cable is not connected. Tried with the 3.x...

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

After digging into it a bit more, I've realized that when reverting to a safe base config, I had forgotten to delete the DSDT.aml that I had previously placed in /Extra. It's booting into safe mode now, will report back. Is the onboard Wifi supported out of the box, or is there a kext somewhere?

    WonkeyDonkey's Steambox Pro - Z87E-ITX - Core i7 4770S - GTX 760 Gaming ITX

Thanks for the suggestions. Display is connected via DVI. Using the suggested *.plist and BIOS defaults, I get a kernel panic in AppleACPIPlatform during boot. BIOS is 2.30A. Safe boot won't work, either.
