Keep a backup copy of your installation aka Time Machine. Make a USB installation drive using Unibeast. Continue with the update. :) *I updated OS X from 10.7.1 to 10.7.3 today without any issues.*

For those who have nVidia GTX 550 Ti, have you got any luck running it perfectly on Lion 10.7.2 ? I was having hard time with it. So, I went back to 10.7.1. (Somehow) :( If you managed to make it work in 10.7.2, can you please post here how did you do that? Thanks in advance. :)

I had this kind of issue when I was on Snow Leopard. It's not happening since I've changed the SATA cable for the Mac HD. By the way, another solution could be 'using a different SATA port'.
