@davidahn try to disable Hyperthreading as you are using 64 Logical cores with these Processors and Mac OS X doesn't support more than 32 Logical cores as far as I know ... Also try MacPro5,1 SMBios or MacPro6,1 and I would recommend clover because you might need the HaswellE Patch (onthefly)...

@dyphonix could you please share your wisdom on how to patch the kernel for cpus=31 fix? I'm currently trying to get 10.10.2 working and I'm stuck at cpus=31 again however the old kernel doesn't work

are you using the patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext?

You should use clover I can't guess what's the problem from the progress bar - boot with the flag -v

Hey arkanis, Nope. I've never been able to boot OS X with a GPU above Slot 5. Maybe you can plug your monitor cables all in Slot 5 so that Slot 3 has no Display output just Cuda (or OpenGL). I'm also fighting with PM - I used the MacPro6,1 definition with Clover and everything works...

Not as a main Display for OS X Mavericks

Try PCI5 and PCI7

Try smbios to MacPro 5,1 - also try -c 4 (or 3) -p E5-2680 -- even if you get an error it should give you more performance if you set it to Haswell which is -c 4 (I believe :problem:)
