Hi! It seems we have the same setup.. creepy. I'm using a Logitech MX518 mouse. Are you using that too?
Anyways, the solution to 10.8.X with a P8P67 LE is in Multibeast to check:
Drivers & Bootloaders -> Drivers -> System -> AppleACPIPlatform Rollback -> 10.8.1 Rollback

Maybe I'm missing a step, but this does not work on my Geforce 550 ti. After downloading http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-304.00.05f02-driver.html which is the newest driver at the time of writing this, extracting the 5 kext files, and then using KextBeast, during bootup the screen locks on...

but a couple things to note:
-500GB HDD? Are you reusing an old hdd or buying a new one? If you're buying a new one and are using it as a video server imho I recommend a 1 or 2TB hdd. They are around $10 to $20 more than 500GB and you get so much more out of it.

I updated to the newest multibeast today. I'm using the ps/2 kext with it, and a ps/2 keyboard. Now for some sort of odd reason the tilda key is a ± and a §.. what gives?
