So, my hack was crashing semi-frequently upon wake. The crash logs cited 80211 driver as being the cause. I then I disabled wake from USB, which seemed to solve the problem. After a couple weeks of stability... My hack crashed upon manual wake (from power button) and then reboot with bios...
I made a reply, but it was being reviewed for a while before being shown. Can you look at my last reply and see what you think? Any ideas?
Anybody else I've asked has no idea either.
If I connect only the BenQ or Asus 4k, the system sorta sleeps and wake properly. It sleeps, stays asleep, and wakes properly if I disconnect my USB keyboard. If I leave my keyboard plugged in, it goes through a sleep/wake loop. I think this is due to wake for USB being on. I saw the post about...
I did a fresh install of 10.15.6 and everything works 100%, even sleep.
Then I added a 2nd monitor today and now when my PC sleeps it the fans ramp up and it seems to stay asleep no matter what I do?
I have to force shutdown via power button to get into my PC again. Anybody know what could be...
I have a few questions for using this new 20,2 smbios. As LordHumungus also mentioned...
Is Sidecar functioning?
Can you play Netflix videos/DRM content?
is iMessage working?
is Siri working?
Basically, I'm worried some DRM/Authentication related things not working due to the missing T2 chip...
I reinstalled SwitchResX and it infact displays the same thing as you. I can still put the display in full 5k in the display settings. Since this is a hardware limitation, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm just happy its working at all.
I don't have resX, but I have these options when I press option and click the resolution settings. I had resX installed a while back and I remember resX also giving me the option to put it into 5k.
No, my issue was the LG 5k wasn't consistently working in macOS. Sometimes it would boot into a black screen, sometimes not.
But it seems I have found a solution/workaround. @CaseySJ @JayShay
What has seemed to solve the issue of my LG 5K sometimes not booting into macOS was plugging in...
If you unplug your monitor while fully booted into macOS does the monitor stop working for some time after?
My issue is Ive got it working with camera and everything perfectly, but every now and then it stops working and I get a black screen during macOS boot.
Did you follow this guide...
Now the screen goes black and stays black no matter how many tries. It also made the resolution for clover and macOS boot weird. I still cannot hot-plug the LG 5K. The other thunderbolt device I have is an Apollo Twin MkI via TB2 adaptor. Before changing these settings you had me test, I was...
Alright thank you! I have some good news and bad news. My build is almost perfect.
I updated my bios settings to reflect the guide (they mysteriously had reset to defaults) and all my USB ports and thunderbolt ports work w/ hot swap except for my LG 5k display, which I'm OK with as I'm just...
Howdy beautiful people,
I am relatively new to the Hackintosh scene. I have run into some problems with my hack. I have followed the guide exactly.
Specifically everything works but these:
- Thunderbolt does not work at all. Included USB-C, adapters, and any of my audio interfaces.
- USB 3.1...
