I tried to make a usb with clover and when I booted to it, it saw my windows drive but not my OS X drive and its backup. I was hoping to keep using chimera for El Capitan.

forgive my ignorance, but is there no way to upgrade to El Capitan while keeping chimera?

come to think of it, it did restart after using multibeast. maybe it was something i did in multibeast that is making it not shut down/restart now?

what is it doing in that 5 minutes? mine goes to a black screen with the spinning wheel. i've never waited 5 minutes to see if it would do anything. i always assume it's stuck and i just manually turn it off.

i also get the "pausing for 5 seconds" during boot-up, but after that it boots up as normal. that's also new since installing 10.10.

hope someone can help. i'm worried when i have an update that requires a restart that it won't properly update.

i lose audio on every update. i'm sure most people on here do.

i use a dsdt. i tried that patch and no change. still won't restart. also, when i power it off like that, when it comes back up i get the "you shut down your computer because of a problem" pop-up.

i put this kext in system/library/extensions then ran kext utility. now i have 889 audio working.

it shuts down then, but i think things you install or change that require restarts need the computer to restart on its own in order to do it. like trim enabler. it says it needs to restart then it hangs on the black screen with the wheel. i force it to shut down and i turn it back off and trim...

in multibeast, you need to go to drivers/system/appleacpiplatform rollback and check the box by 10.9.5. AppleACPIPlatform Rollback.
