I'm back up and running after a brutal couple days of reinstalling everything.
Geekbench 64 performance w/ ram at a STABLE 1333mhz is nearly identical to 1600mhz, literally +/- 20 points over the course of a few runs. This is good.
Time machine now setup off a 2TB G-Raid external - also good...
Well well well, again I can no longer get through memtest.
should've junked the OCZ from the getgo, but looks like that's the culprit. It just cannot run at 1600mhz as claimed.
it's going back.
Maybe this finally solves the issue. I grabbed the data off the drive and onto a G-Raid I just...
Tony-
Thanks, did this and prime95 (in W7) lasted about 15 seconds. Outputted this results file (nothing called 'stress.txt' so a little confused there)

Can anyone help me?
I've gotten a couple 'screen washout' ('you must restart your machine') errors while being up- I figured this was just part of the Hack experience and at once every couple weeks really didn't mind.
I just crashed with a ton of stuff open, and upon restarting everything is...
thanks guys.
I just called vmware and they confirmed that yes, it cannot be on another disk.
i see some old insanelymac hacks that apparently worked in prior versions, think the easiest here is a standard virtual install
found this-
http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch09.html#rawdisk
However, from the looks of that and the giant warning I may want to avoid given I'm certainly not an 'expert' user. Any other programs (parallels, fusion, etc) that allow this out of the box/easily/SAFELY?)
Question for you- I have 2 identical main OS hard drives one w/ OSX and another w/ Win7 - this works flawlessly via chameleon.
I'm in need however to run a small virtualized window for a desktop app that will only run in windows.
In the past I've used virtualbox for this, always installing XP...
this is my first OCZ experience, can't say that I was pleased (THOUGH- I've been entirely Apple for a few years, so maybe things have changed dramatically and all ram requires manual setting like this).
The one thing I will give OCZ is much better tech support (in my experience) than...
I just have to chime in- this damn ram/motherboard (well- I have the P55A-UD4P) cost me literally over 80+ hours troubleshooting 10+ of that w/ giagbyte/microsoft (would crash W7 installer BUT osx installed AND ran fine), intel (for their SSD which M$ blamed) AND OCZ.
At the default (non...
I also have a GTX 260 - and would like to be on the latest driver (especially if it's better).
Do I simply change the model to mac pro in multibeast and then install? If so should I change it back to Imac when I"m done or is the model name purely asthetic?
humph- this was it! I tried a dozen times over a 2 day period and figured I had screwed something up, happened to correspond with a Logic install where I apparently got a bad disc (which apple next-day shipped a new one).
Success however, just updated fine.
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
Wondering if someone could please help me out.
Have been up and stable until today:
I installed iLife 09 which went fine, and then upon running garageband tried to install the optional ~1.2gigs of music/loops/etc. This prompted me to software update and included a number of ilife updates...
