I'm having exactly the same issue on 10.14.6. "Unlocking with Apple Watch" appears for a split second then disappears. I've tried everything I can think of, everything suggested on this thread. It was working before the 10.14 upgrade.
Thanks! All seems fine and dandy with the connections now. I guess it was just a coincidence but I'm not going to mess with it anymore. I think I'll give the flashing a try once I have a reliable backup card. They pop up every so often under 50 bucks.
The 1,1 lives to fight another day.
So I took it out, tested all the pins on cables and the card with a continuity meter. They all checked out. Reinstalled the card and it works! I'm suspecting either a bad connection somewhere or a some kind of overload capacitor that discharged overnight the first time and discharged today...
So I have this Club 3d HD7950 that I'm trying to get going in my old Mac Pro, and this particular card has 1x6pin and 1x 8pin power connectors. So I need an 6 to 8pin adapter. The adapter I found locally has pin #8 empty, which according to the standard GPU pinout, should be a ground...

I'm looking at a Club 3D HD7950 for my Mac Pro1,1 already running Yosemite. I'm not too worried about a boot screen and I never sleep my computer (either on or off), so I won't try to flash it just yet. But I do notice it has 2xDVI rather than 1xDVI on the reference model. Should I expect any...
