Are you saying that you've been able to get it to work just fine with DVI->HDMI when that's the only monitor? I can't seem to get that to work either.

Update: Turns out the whole computer doesn't freeze. There's no KP or anything. I'm able to connect remotely (though I can't just use screen sharing to VNC in - doesn't seem to want to connect. I couldn't find anything in the system log...
