GPU Advice: Considering Gigabyte GTX 950 Windforce 2GB

Thanks, yeah I'm hoping for decent results and that's reassuring. I still have my Yosemite backup from my recent El Capitan fiasco and thanks, will bear those flags in mind but wouldn't nv_disable=1 prevent the Nvidia web drivers from loading?

GPU Advice: Considering Gigabyte GTX 950 Windforce 2GB

I've decided to split my upgrade into GPU first, and then CPU/Mobo/RAM later. For the GPU I'm almost settled on the "Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 2GB GDDR5 OC WINDFORCE 2X PCIe3.0" http://www.dabs.com/products/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-950-2gb-gddr5-oc-windforce-2x-pcie3-0-gv-n950wf2oc-2gd-BL3M.html...

I just came on here earlier to get advice on upgrading from my Sandybuild and was considering going Haswell. However, this looks REALLY promising and price wise the Skylakes are almost the same. From the sounds of it everything seems to be working besides integrated graphics and iTunes. Did...

    Currently Sandybridge: Upgrade Recommendations?

Yeah if I was to go for that I'd get an i7 4790k. I've already got an SSD too and would upgrade memory further down the line. 16's been enough for me so far anyway. Heard a lot about that motherboard so seems like a good bet. Do you reckon I'd need a newer graphics card since the GTX460...

    Currently Sandybridge: Upgrade Recommendations?

My current spec is: ASUS P8-Z68 Pro i7 2600k Sandybridge 16GB RAM Nvidia GTX 460 1GB Graphics Recently my build has been playing up: 1) Only recognises 8GB RAM. Think this is mobo problem as individual sticks work fine, but with all of them in the BIOS only shows 8GB. In the RAM...
