Thank you very much for your helpful reply! The last link you gave provided me with some very valuable info. It appears the drive I was using (WD green) is one of those drives that doesn't jive too well with Chimera due to 4k sectors. I've returned the drive this morning in replace of a SSD...
Hey there, I don't have my machine configured to sleep, since I'll be running some pretty rigorous video encoding sessions (upto 8 hours at a time) I set it to never sleep. But maybe I will try it out once I get my current issues dealth with, just for the sake of finding out what behavior it...
Is your Framebuffer set to Uakari? you said you had to reset yours but didn't mention what you set it too, just curious if this was it, since I have the same card as you now.

After doing a successful install of Lion on my CustoMac build, I used carbon copy disk cloner to clone the image to a partition on a new drive (I want a triple boot and want atleast 1TB for lion and windows 7 and ubuntu on much smaller partitions) partition, 2 TB with 3 partitions drive...
iTunes and App store both work now, but still don't have iCloud working :( ...and it seems others seem to have got their iCloud working once their app store was working. And the battle goes on lol.

For me, my onboard Ethernet is working fine, so in my case, I don't see how it could be the Ethernet. My boot.plist has EthernetBuiltIn set to Yes and also PciRoot set to 1 doesn't seem to solve things. Also, I should probably mention that I have no problems logging into the iTunes store, just...
I am having the same issue, however, when I search for answers all I get is advice on how to set up my Ethernet... my Ethernet is obviously already working or I wouldn't be able to get online. So now I'm confused, are all these people that are offering this advice misunderstanding the question...
Did you ever get this issue resolved? I'm in the same position here with the same mobo/cpu combo as you, I can open QuickTime but not DVD Player... DVD Player quits on launch. I would think that somebody has resolved this issue by now with some sort of fix? :problem: :cry:
